Planning a wedding doesn't have to be stressful. We are here to help you every step of the way! On the first Wednesday of each month we will have a Wednesday's Wedding Tip that we will share to use while planning your wedding. As we said, we've seen some amazing things and some not so amazing things. Our fifth tip of this wedding planning series - Learn to say "No"!
It's your wedding, not theirs. While it's important to be kind, you don't have to please everyone.
This is probably one of the most important tips...ever. Your wedding day is going to be one of the BEST days of your life...yes, YOUR life. As you go through the planning process you will encounter situations where you will have to tell someone "No". Whether it's an overbearing family member, a selfish bridesmaid or an opinionated vendor, you will have to stand your ground. No one else is going to remember every moment of your day like you will, so why should they be the ones making the decisions?
Now I will say, your parents are an important aspect of your day as well. I mean without them, there is no you. It's also not uncommon for the parents to be paying for most of the wedding. This can make saying no even harder sometimes. Just make sure you that you are always communicating with them during the process and explaining why you want things a certain way.
Do what you feel is right for you and your fiancé. It's the two of you who will reminisce about this day for the rest of your lives.
